A lot of genealogy today, which is always a tough read, but the story of Joseph is always fun.
S: "the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden." (Genesis 39:21 NIV84)
O: Joseph was in one unfortunate situation after another, but he never got dejected or upset. He simply was obedient and did his job, and even above and beyond. Doing what you are supposed to do no matter the circumstances will be rewarded, either in this life or life eternal.
A: I need to work on forgetting about my circumstances and just focus on being obedient.
P: God, remind me of your presence and help me to be obedient no matter what is going on in my life. Amen.
Riley read Genesis 28 today and did a great job with another tough chapter.
