16 chapters! Genesis 1-16, and here's my SOAP:
S - Scripture: Genesis 4:7 - "If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
O - Observation: I know this was written during sacrifices, but it gives a very descriptive picture of sin and Satan just crouching right around the corner waiting for us to let our guard down. But the message is simple, do what is right, and we have nothing to worry about. Do what is wrong, and you have to beware of being overtaken by sin. Since we all sin, we must actively work on becoming the master of sin. Because Jesus has won the war, all we have to do is be master over the battles, right?
A - Application: I think this can be applied to my life simply by being more intentional. I can't just wander aimlessly through my day and my life. I have to be intentional about being a master over my sin and actively being obedient to God.
P - Prayer: God, open my eyes to being intentional. Don't let me wander, but remind me when I need to be more focused on what life has for me, and focus more on areas in my life that I struggle with. I want to live intentionally for You. Thank you for every word that you've given us in the Bible. Amen
R read Genesis chapter 1 and had a really nice prayer thanking God for everything that He made.
