S: “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. (1 Chronicles 29:14 NIV84)
O: David knew and was acknowledging that nothing was his. These gifts that were being offered were not from the people from their own wealth, he was declaring that God was the giver of all things and we are to simply give back to support His church.
A: I forget often that the things I have been given are not mine: my husband is not mine, my kids are nit mine, my house, cars, land, things are not mine, my money is not mine. I think I need to put my decisions through that filter more often. I would be wiser with my money if I didn't think if it as mine to spend. I would be a better mom if I remembered that my kids are "on loan.".
P: Gracious, Giving God, who am I that I should have as much as I have? Everything comes from you and I will give back to you only what comes from your hand. Amen.
