S: But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you. (1 Samuel 12:24 NIV84)
O: Samuel was telling Saul that he would be blessed as long as he sought after the Lord by serving Him in obedience. And remembering all that God has done for you.
A: How often do I forget all the good that God has done for me. How often do I just go about my day, asking God for blessings but forgetting to thank Him for what I already have. I can be very ungrateful at times, and I can also expect blessings when I am not serving God in obedience. Do I fear the Lord? Do I serve Him faithfully? Do I consider the great things He has done for me?
P: Gracious God, thank you for my blessings. Thank you for providing for my family and our farm during this drought. Thank you for friends that care deeply for us. And thank you for my family. You provide so many blessings for us each and every day, and in gratitude I can only repay you with my respectful obedience. You are so good to me. Amen.
