David and Goliath and Saul's relentless pursuit of David. Fun!
S: All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give all of you into our hands.” (1 Samuel 17:47 NIV84)
O: David was giving all the glory (beforehand!) to God. He knew that it wasn't his strength or power that would bring victory, but the hand of God.
A: I have a real problem giving God the glory when good things happen. Maybe when I get out of bad situations or prayers are answered, but absolute victories and blessings I forget to praise God for His provision. It's not that I try to take all the glory for myself, I am just not in the habit of focusing on the blessings that God has given me.
P: Giving God, thank you for my blessings. Thank you for the gifts you have given me and the battles you have won for me. Keep my mind focused in you so that I can give you all the glory and follow you my entire life. Amen.
