B90D: Day 17 - Joshua15:1- Judges 3:27

S: But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15 NIV84)

O: We've all heard this verse, the second half is one of the most well-known verses of the Bible, but the first half struck me. Joshua was giving the people a choice, but in giving them that choice, he was also stating that no matter what they decided to do, he was serving God. He didn't wait to see the popular opinion, he simply said what he was going to do, popular or unpopular. That took guts and faith. He could have been very unpopular at that point, but it didn't matter. He was committed to God, and he didn't care what the people thought.

A: When am I bold about my faith? When do I tell others about my convictions and my worldview without considering what they'll think of me or any other consequences. Not enough.

P: Faithful God, I will serve you and I will train my children to serve you all their days. Please help me to be bold about my choice and to never compromise my choice or the ability to tell others about my faith. Amen.
