Dear D,
I have yet to see your face, I have yet to hear your cries or feel your tiny fingers wrap around mine. But I love you, sweetheart. I love you more than you'll ever know. You are already such a blessing to me and our little family, and you haven't even arrived yet.
We are anxiously awaiting your arrival. We are praying that you are healthy and strong. I can't wait to hold you and see your beautiful face and count your tiny toes. And smell that precious newborn smell on your little head. I'll cherish those tiny, dreamy smiles that float across your face. Those peaceful, full-belly sighs. Those little baby coos.
I can't wait to see your daddy fall in love with another beautiful girl. Before I had your sister, I thought I loved your daddy for the man he was. But seeing him be a daddy has been the most wonderful part of our marriage. D, sweetie, you have the very best daddy there is. He is strong, compassionate, gentle, and loves you very much. He will hog all of your snuggles, so I won't get any! When you get older, you'll get to join in on "Jungle Daddy" time and you will both laugh until your sides hurt. He is the very best, D. You are a lucky girl to have him for a daddy.
And you have a very excited big brother and sister that are ready to meet you. R has already planned out all the fun, girly things she's going to teach you. She's set aside doll things just for you. She wants to teach you to ride a bike and feed the goats. Your little brother won't quite know what to make of you at first. He's still pretty little, but I know you will be the best of friends as you get older. B is such a compassionate, giving little boy. He will be a very protective big brother.
You are a very loved, very lucky little girl, D. We are so excited to meet this little blessing God has sent to us. We are so thankful for you!
Love,
Mommy
