New Year Grand Plan Challenge - Week 1

I attempted to do this last year, but the bulging baby belly, combined with garden-building projects outside left me too tired to get past the first week.  So, I'm going to do it this year.  We are starting a little 'late' according to the master schedule, but better late than never, right?  I found this over at Organized Home.  I thought if you wanted to join in with me, we could keep each other accountable.  Because, Lord knows, I am not good at this.

So this week (Jan 20-26), it's time to preview our schedule and get the Christmas stuff put away!  And yes, my Christmas stuff is still out!  Eeek!  What can I say?  My kids love the Christmas tree and manger scene.  My oldest has cried on multiple occasions in years past while putting away the tree.  So I put it off, though I'm always glad when it's put away though because my house seems cleaner and ready to begin again.

So, your mission, should you choose to accept it (and you totally should), is to preview our schedule at Organized Home and get that Christmas stuff put away!

Bonus points if you also go through your decorations and purge things you won't/don't use anymore!  No use storing things you no longer love!

Check back here next Sunday for next week's challenge!  Comment below when you're done and encourage others on their challenge!

  1. Christmas stuff is out of the house (my wonderful hubby actually packs things away every year!) but is still sitting in the garage waiting to get up to the attic. So I'll do that this week. Can you also keep us up to date on what you're doing outside in your garden, so that we know when to do that stuff too?? I'm always so late on everything :-P And I'm wanting to do a little more this year than last!

  2. I'm in too! We took down the tree last week and all the inside decor; however, our lights are still on the house!?! EEK! Even worse than that.. we have a reindeer and a tree that are not even hooked up to any electricity and they are laying down in the yard.. have been that way since we decorated in December....laying down on the yard..ha

  3. Need to do Christmas take down. Maybe if I still have sickies at home from school, I will put them to work during their energetic spurts. I am Christal. Mom of three..ages 10, 71/2 and 2. My house needs help and I need accountability. I am VERY easily distracted. Looking forward to this, if people are going to be checking to see how I did...more likely to get stuff done.

  4. My Christmas is still up :P Hubby is working on a HUGE project for work and was on his laptop all evening so no boxes for me. But, hopefully it'll get done tomorrow. I might be able to bring in a few of them myself to make it easier on him. Not looking forward to doing it in the coooold weather though!

  6. I'm Megan, mom to a 2 1/2-year-old boy and 10-month-old girl. So excited to do this challenge! Having the accountability will make it easier and more fun! I'm feeling good because I've had my Christmas stuff down and put away for a couple weeks now. I get ancy after Christmas for my house to return to "normal". Thanks for doing this Lindsay!
