We got up at 3:30 on Friday morning to get the animals taken care of. I was supposed to be at the hospital at 5:30, which is 45 minutes away. Daddy and I got the goats fed, a little more expedited than usual, but fed, Tianna milked, chickens taken care of, and Sydney fed and watered. Daddy ate breakfast while I got R up and ready and took a quick shower. We managed to only leave the house 15 minutes behind schedule, and I will 'plead the 5th' on how we managed to still make it to the hotel that my parents were staying at on time... We made it to the hospital, got shown to our room and I got prepped for surgery, which involved a lot of paperwork about medical history and potential problems in surgery, not so fun.
At 7 my parents showed up with R and we all got prepared for surgery by laughing and relaxing in the prep room. At 7:30, Daddy, Nana, and I walked (only mildly embarrassing since it was so early in the morning, and I was just a little excited) into the OR where Daddy and Nana got suited up and I was taken in for my anesthesia and final prep. The anesthesiologist and nurses were just so fantastic. They asked exactly what I wanted and did not want to happen during surgery and made sure that any concerns I had were addressed. I felt so comfortable and relaxed before the surgery started. I was all numbed up, they brought Daddy and Nana in and began the surgery. Within just a few minutes, I heard the gargled cries of my sweet baby boy! The first things I heard from the people in the room were, "Goodness, he's a big boy," and "Look at all that hair!"
They got him all cleaned up and asked me what I thought he weighed. I guessed 8 pounds even. Mother's instinct, I guess, he weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and is 19 1/2 inches long!
I managed to do very well in the remainder of the surgery, they took B out to the nursery, and Daddy and Nana went with him. I was able to stay awake for the rest of the time, and they had me sewn up very quickly. I got to see him as my bed rode by the nursery. R, Grandpa, and Nana were standing at the window watching too. They brought him to my room really quickly and we all got a chance to hold him.
R did so well with him, and she said last night (Saturday), "I'm so glad my brother came out yesterday. I love him so much."
Me too, sweetheart. Me too.

Congratulations!!! He's a cutie and I'm glad things went well.
