Road Trip!

We're going up to Tulsa this weekend for my step-mom's birthday celebration. We're having a girls' night to go see Mama Mia! I'm so excited! It was just going to be a simple trip, but Daddy and I were watching the local travel show on TV and they had a neat little place up in Afton, OK (about halfway between Tulsa and Joplin) that was a Route 66 museum with a collection of 10 vintage Packard's. Since most people our age don't know what those are, they are the really classy cars in old movies, like the Rolls Royce's of today.

The Packard's were available from 1899 to 1959. The late 1940's-1950's is when the larger car companies started taking over the market. Anyways, as you might probably imagine, Daddy's family is distantly related to the 2 gentlemen that started the Packard company and we'd like to go see some of the family history.
We're going to eat near Grand Lake and maybe take some time to play around at one of the local state parks. I think it will be a really fun trip for us.
Then I get to go to Mama Mia and a really nice dinner with the girls! Woo hoo! It should be a fun weekend, I'll post plenty of pictures when I get back!
